The four-day initial meeting of the Erasmus + project ‘Assisting Better Communication’ (ABC) was held from 13th to 16th February 2017 in Porto, Escola Superior de Saude do Porto. The ABC project aims to improve the study program of Speech Therapy and Audiology through the education of teaching staff and introduction with modern teaching methods, diagnostic methods and interventions used in speech and audiology.
The initial meeting was aimed at detailed planning of activities within the ABC project. The meeting had aim to ensure that all aspects of the project (including deadlines for the execution of certain tasks) are harmonized.
Project Coordinator is Ilia State University from Georgia. Partners in the ABC project are: University of Tuzla and University of East Sarajevo from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Portage Association of Georgia, Step Forward Association of Georgia, Haifa University, Gordon Academic College of Education and Ono Academic College from Israel, Groningen University of the Netherlands, University of Zagreb from Croatia, Instituto Politécnico do Porto – Escola Superior de Tecnología da Saúde do Porto, Polytechnic Institute of Porto – School of Allied Health Technologies, Universidade of Aveiro & UA, Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra (CHUC), Associação para a Recuperação de Cidadãos Inadaptados da Lousã – ARCIL from Portugal.
During first day of the meeting were presented all project participants, as well as their expectations and roles in the project itself. Professor Mirela Duranović, PhD presented the Department of Speech Therapy and Audiology of the University of Tuzla, the aim of the program, the curriculum, the research activities and the way of organizing the practical work of the students.
